Spence's Years at Thacher

Spence came to Thacher the fall of 2002, and left the spring of 2005. We had lots of good times--there was a solid group of young single faculty members and we had a lot of fun going out in Santa Barbara, etc.  Spence joined me (Theana) for a season of Outrigger Canoe Paddling (with Ka Nai'a Canoe Club in Santa Barbara).  This caused Spence and I to spend a lot of time together, as we'd drive from Thacher to Santa Barbara three times a week.  I still can't believe that we were able to do this, as life at Thacher is usually an all consuming.  While paddling, we met Nicole and Jill, and the four of us spent quite a bit of time together.  Spence, remember all those great meals and evenings soaking in the hot tub at the Andersons?

It is hard for me to believe that Spence was at Thacher for such a relatively short time (since I've stayed here much longer).  Spence played a big role in my early years at Thacher, and I've sorely missed seeing him on a daily basis since he left.

Spence, I am so sorry to miss your party, but I will be out of town that weekend.
